UPDATE @ 8:29 p.m.: The severe thunderstorm warning has been upgraded to a tornado warning for Mercer County until 9 p.m.
UPDATE @ 8:15 p.m.: A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for Mercer County and will remain in effect until 9 p.m., according to the National Weather Service and Storm Center 7.

On and off storms will continue tonight and through Tuesday, some of which could be strong to severe, according to Storm Center 7 Chief Meteorologist Eric Elwell.

TONIGHT: Warm and muggy through the evening as temperatures hover around 80 degrees. Scattered storms develop tonight, with a few strong storms possible mainly in the first half of the night. Lows tonight will reach the lower 70s.
TUESDAY: Expect a mix of sun and clouds with a few more storms possible, some of which could be strong. Highs will be in the middle 80s and it will be breezy at times.

WEDNESDAY: Partly cloudy skies are expected with a chance for a passing shower or storm. It will be hot and humid with highs nearing 90 degrees.
THURSDAY: Expect lots of clouds with a chance for showers and storms. Highs will be in the upper 80s.
FRIDAY: Partly cloudy skies will end the week with only a slight chance for a passing shower or storm. It will not be quite as hot with highs in the middle 80s.
SATURDAY: Expect partly cloudy skies and highs in the middle 80s.
