Power restored to nearly all Greene County customers

UPDATE @ 5:27 p.m.:

Power has been retored to all but four customers in Greene County.

UPDATE @ 4:45 p.m.:

Nearly 2,000 DP&L customers are without power in Greene County, according to the outage map. We are working to learn the cause.

Meanwhile, power has been restored to nearly all customers in Montgomery County. Of the 1,100 customers who lost power this afternoon, 25 remain in the dark, according to the outage map.

UPDATE @2:13 p.m.:

Power has been restored to 344 customers, a Dayton Power and Light official said. They still don’t have a cause of the outages, but crews will continue working until they find it.

UPDATE @ 1:07 p.m.:

Over 1,100 customers are without power in Montgomery County, according to Dayton Power and Light.

UPDATE @ 11:14 a.m.

Power has been restored to Clark County customers.

Only about six customers remain without power in Butler County, according to a Duke Energy outage map.

In Montgomery County, 11 DP&L customers remain without power.

UPDATE @ 4:35 a.m.

All customers in Preble County have had their power restored, but outages remain across the Miami Valley after early morning storms.

At 4:30 a.m. 254 Ohio Edison customers in Clark County were reporting outages, with the majority of the outages reported in Springfield Township. Power was expected to be restored around 7 a.m. according to Ohio Edison’s outage page.

168 Duke Energy customers were still without power in Butler County after a downed tree branch took out power lines west of Middletown.

A little over 50 DP&L customers across Greene, Montgomery, Clark, Shelby, and Warren counties still reported outages at 4:30 a.m.

FIRST REPORT

Over 900 customers across the Miami Valley are reporting power outages after storms rolled through the region this morning.

At 3:15 a.m. 676 DP&L customers reported power outages in Preble County, according to an online outage map. A little more than 50 customers across Montgomery, Greene, Warren, Clark, and Shelby counties also reported outages from DP&L.

Duke Energy also reported outages across Butler and Warren counties. At 3:15 a.m. 168 outages were blamed on tree branches on wires outside of Middletown in Butler County. Power was estimated to be restored around 7 a.m. according to Duke Energy’s online outage map.

Outages were also reported in Springfield by Ohio Edison, but only 18 customers were reported without power.
