About Wright State: The 88-81 win at Miami on Saturday was huge for a team that went 0-6 in road non-league games last season. … Love became the 33rd member of the Raider 1,000-point club and now has 1,002. Tim Walker, who played from 1971-74, is next at 1,009. Love has 642 career records to rank seventh and could catch all-time leader Bill Edwards, who had 907 from 1989-93. Jordan Pleiman (717) and Bob Schaefer (717) are next on the list.. …The Raiders were a strong rebounding team last year with a plus-3.0 margin per game, but they're at plus-12.5 through two games this season. … Sophomore guard Skyelar Potter is averaging 12.5 points and has made 7 of 10 three-pointers. He shot 31.3 percent on 3s last season. Freshman guard Trey Calvin had a rough college debut, going 1 of 8 from the field (1 of 6 on 3's) against Central State, but he bounced back with seven points against Miami, going 3 of 7 while making his only 3.
ABOUT TENNESSEE TECH: The Golden Eagles, who went 8-23 last season, lost their opener at Western Kentucky, 76-64, but nabbed their first win Saturday against visiting Martin Methodist, 83-70. They built a 17-0 lead and coasted. … They were picked to finish 12th out of 12 teams in the Ohio Valley Conference poll. … Jr. Clay (Ardarryl Clay Jr. is his full name) led the team in scoring (14.4), assists (4.3) and steals (1.8) last season and was named second team all-league. … Vick's 54 three-pointers last year (on nearly 40-percent shooting) were the most by a freshman in team history. He averaged 11.2 points and 3.8 rebounds. … Jared Sherfield, a 6-5 sophomore guard, averaged 16 points in the last four games in 2018-19.
COMING UP: The Raiders host Kent State at 7 p.m. Saturday and then face Urbana at the Nutter Center on Wednesday, Nov. 20, in the first of four games in the Gulf Coast Showcase. They'll play Weber State at 5 p.m. Monday, Nov. 25, in Estero, Fla.
