Wright State senior guard Chelsea Welch has named the Horizon League Player of the Week.
Welch, a Fairmont High School graduate, led the HL with 23.5 points per game last week to go along with 7.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.5 steals in a pair of home wins against Detroit Mercy and Oakland.
She had 30 points and a career-high 11 rebounds in Saturday's 80-75 triumph of the Grizzlies . Half of her points came from the free throw line, where she was 15 of 20.
The 15 free throws also were a career high for Welch, and the 20 attempts tied the school record.

This is her third HL Player of the Week award this season.
The Raiders (18-8 overall, 9-5 HL) return to action Saturday at home against Northern Kentucky.
