Wallace, Florida falls in UIFL title game

Quarterback Nez Mincy accounted for nine touchdowns as the Cincinnati Commandos defeated host Florida Tarpons 62-44 to claim the 2012 UIFL Ultimate Bowl II on Monday at the Germain Arena.

Chris Wallace, a South High School graduate, finished the game 22-of-42 for 241 yards, five touchdowns and one interception for the Tarpons. He was sacked five times.

Wallace, who took over in the fourth game, threw 58 touchdowns with just five interceptions in nine regular-season games. He completed 58.7 percent (135-of-230) of his passes for 1,850 yards. Florida finished the Ultimate Indoor Football League Southern Conference champions with a 12-1 record.
