Suarez hit .337 with 10 home runs in the final month of the season. He set a career high with 49 home runs and had 103 RBIs, one short of his career high. He also led all of baseball with 189 strikeouts.
Suarez set records for most home runs hit in a season by a National League third baseman and most home runs by a native of Venezuela. Only Pete Alonso, of the New York Mets, hit more home runs this season (53). Suarez fell three home runs short of tying George Foster’s franchise record for home runs in a season.
