HS Roundup 2/20: Ponitz boys knock off West Carrollton

The Ponitz boys basketball team knocked off West Carrollton in an dominant 92-46 regular season victory.

Jaron Smith led Ponitz with 20 points in the win, tacking on five assists.

Damonte Bailey (16 points, 15 rebounds), Eric Sealey (13 points, 12 rebounds) and Malik Pooler (10 points, 10 rebounds) all recorded double-doubles on the night.

Derrick Henderson rounded out the scoring with 18 points, six assists and five rebounds.

Dariane Matthews led West Carrollton with 12 points in the losing effort.

Catholic Central 61, Fairbanks 54: Catholic Central finished the regular season with a 19-3 record.

Tecumseh 64, Lebanon 58: Corrine Thomas paced all scorers with 29 points in the D-I victory. Presley Griffitts tacked on a double-double with 23 points and 10 assists. Eva White led in the loss with 16.

Franklin 49, Badin 37: Layne Ferrell recorded a double-double in the D-II win, scoring 20 points and 15 rebounds. Emma Broermann countered with a double-double of her own in the loss, tallying 12 points and 15 rebounds.

Monroe 55, Oakwood 33: Erica Thompson tallied 11 points in the victory. Olivia Wells-Daniels tacked on 10. Kyndall Ketterer led Oakwood with nine.

Greeneview 72, Urbana 32: Alaina Lyons netted 13 points and six rebounds in the loss. Samantha Rooney chipped in 10 points.

Covington 44, Twin Valley South 24: Samantha Whiteman shot for 25 points to pace all scorers win the Covington victory. Mylan Crews led in the losing effort.

Franklin Monroe 50, Bradford 29: Franklin Monroe’s Corinna Conley scored 15 points in the win. Skipp Miller led Bradford with 16 in the loss.

Russia 77, Mississsinawa Valley 23: Cameo Wilson tallied 23 points to lead in the Division IV victory. Jenna Cordonnier tacked on 14. Leah Scholl had six for MV.

Botkins 30, Riverside 28: Sarah Bergman recorded 10 points in the victory. Paige Lane added on eight and Alya Jones five.

St. Marys 38, Lima Shawnee 34: Makena Mele led St. Marys with 13 points in the win. Syd Cisco tacked on 11.
