HS Roundup 8/14: Northmont edges Fairmont on fifth-man tiebreaker

Boys Golf

Bellbrook 175, Alter 178: Zach Crampton led the field with a 39 for Bellbrook. Paxton Francis had a 41 for Alter and Adam Schulz of Alter and Kane Ely of Bellbrook each shot a 44.

Coldwater 172, St. Henry 176: Nathan Kaiser recorded a 38 and Carson Muhlenkamp a 40 to help Coldwater open conference play in winning fashion. Reed and Sam Koesters each had a 43 for St. Henry.

Delphos St. John’s 159, New Knoxville 216: Jack Gerker of DSJ earned medalist honors with a 37. Trent Lehman led New Knoxville at 47.

Fort Loramie 178, Russia 202: Adam Ballas shot a 43 and Zach Pleiman and Caeleb Meyer each added a 44 for Fort Loramie. Drew Sherman led Russia with a 47.

Monroe 178, Carlisle 186: Alex Gomia earned medalist honors with a 39 to help Monroe improve to 3-0.

Northmont 180, Fairmont 181: Brayden Hobert’s fifth-man tiebreaker score of 49 gave Northmont the edge. Brendan Siehl scored a 42 for Northmont. Logan Mayes was the medalist for Fairmont with a 39.

Triad 190, West Liberty-Salem 0: WLS was down a golfer but Patrick Harr tallied three pars and shot a 45.

Girls Golf

Eaton 202, Franklin 214: Ainesleigh Elstro carded a 40 to lead the field for Eaton, which improved to 2-0. Demi Barnthouse shot a 49 for Franklin.

Greenville 209, Piqua 222: Kenna Jenkinson finished with a 39 to pace Greenville. Kenzi Anderson led Piqua with a 53.

Girls Tennis

Badin 3, Fairfield 2: Ryleigh Clemmons won in second singles and Badin swept the doubles matches to pick up the win. Amaya Turner and Talia Nichols each had singles wins for Fairfield.

Middletown 5, Franklin 0: Arianna Layne, Izzy Fonseca and Hannah Wilson each won in singles for Middletown.

Monroe 5, Edgewood 0: Julia Peterson, Renee Lyons and Kaytlyn Etler each picked up singles wins for Monroe.

Northmont 4, Tecumseh 1: Alaina Anderson, Aubrey Ferrell and Rachel Smith swept the singles matches for Northmont. The doubles duo of Kayla Bush/Olivia Walrath won in first doubles for Tecumseh.

Piqua 5, Northridge 0: Arabella Partee and Alexa Knorr-Sullivan posted singles wins to help Piqua improve to 4-0.
