HS Roundup 9/17: Miami East breaks tie against Versailles in golf

With a fifth score of 56, Katie Pottorf broke the tie against Versailles and Miami East won 195-196.

The leading lady for Miami East was Paige Lawson with a 44 and second was Kearsten Kirby who recorded a 47.

This win helped the Lady Vikings of Miami East improve their record 8-3 overall and 3-3 in league.

Boys Golf

Bellbrook 167, Franklin 219: Co-medalist Zach Crampton and Ryan Wehner were from Bellbrook and scored a 40. The leading player for Franklin was Isaiah Bales who tallied a 44.

Ben Logan 183, Northwestern 194: Kaiden Weaks led the course for Ben Logan with a score of 42 followed by Ethan Ricketts who tallied a 45.

Cedarville 167, Greeneview 172: The match medalist, Mason Witt from Greeneview, scored a 34. Cedarville teammates Adam Wood and Logan Brennaman came in second with a 39.

Dayton Christian 190, West Carrollton 243: Clark Johnson shot a 45 and earned medalist honors for Dayton Christian while teammates Cole Miller scored a 47 and Dylan Bower finished with a 49.

Miami East 177, National Trail 235: Tyler Cohers of Miami East earned first overall with a 42. National Trail was led by Austin Knapp who recorded a 51 and Tyler Porter with a 53.

Minster 166, Fairlawn 201, Lehman Catholic 208: With a score of 38, Joseph Magoto of Minster, earned medalist honors. In second was Cole Gilardi who shot a 41 followed by Minster’s Grant Voisard with a 42. Leading Fairlawn was Kyle Peters with a 45.

Monroe 164, Valley View 177: Leading Monroe was Alex Gomia with a 36 followed by Jackson Baker scoring a 38 and Weston Tripplet with a 43, both scoring career lows.

Northeastern 172, Triad 183: Earning medalist honors was Hunter Buck of Northestern with a score of 37 followed by Eli Justice with a 41. The leader for Triad was Cole Pond with a shot of 44.

St. Marys 152, St. Henry 152: Match medalist was Clay Quellhorst of St. Marys with a 35. Teammate Reese Sweigart and Rylee Deitsch both scored a 36 and came in second overall.

Twin Valley South 200, Ansonia 231: Twin Valley South’s Willie Bowman walked away with medalist honors and scored a 39, while Ansonia’s leader, Johnnie Bozarth, recorded a 51.

Girls Golf

Miamisburg 201, Fairmont 216: Grace Anspach earned medalist honors with a score of 45 for Miamisburg and Taylor Brueggen recorded a 49.

OHC Tournament: Triad was led by Kayleigh Boldman who scored a 99 and finished first team OHC followed by Olivia Butz with a 105. Shelby Jones of Fairbanks shot a 100 followed by Gabby Vamos who recorded a 111.

Springfield Shawnee 181, Bellefontaine 190: Shooting the low score of Spg. Shawnee was Isabella DeMayo with a 37 and for Bellfontaine Samantha McLaughlin shot a 42.

St. Henry 189, Lincolnview 254: Ellen Naumann of St. Henry earned medalist honors with a score of 42 followed by Claire Clune with a 46. Shiann Kraft led for Lincolnview and tallied a 56.

Boys Soccer

Tecumseh 2, Urbana 1: The two goals for Tecumseh were made by Emmanual Gutierrez and Kenyon Runner while Humberto Arevalo made one assist.

Girls Soccer

Tecumseh 2, Urbana 0: With a score in the first and second half for Tecumseh, Taylor Sisco and Mae Mastin led the team.

Girls Tennis

Preble Shawnee 5, Lebanon 0: Preble Shawnee’s Allison Zornes, Alivia Reek and Michelle Bulach all won their singles match. In doubles, teammates Zoey Collins and Destiney Quillen defeated Meredith Chin and Katie Manwaring 6-7(1), 6-3, (11-9).

Tecumseh 5, London 0: Shelby Stacy of Tecumseh defeated Erica Ren 6-2, 6-3 and teammates Ashley Fite and Emilee Morris both won their match. In doubles both Tecumseh teams won their match 6-0, 6-0.

Girls Volleyball

Cincinnati Christian 3, North College Hill 0: Elizabeth Bowling led Cin. Christian with eight aces, nine assists and one kill. Teammate Emily Hesselgesser made five aces and eight kills.

Eaton 3, Twin Valley South 0: Eaton’s Shaylen Perry led with 12 kills and Kylee Pitsinger making one less. Carsyn Lammers made 20 assists during the game and Annika Gels recorded 12 digs.

Northeastern 3, Mechanicsburg 0: Leading for Mechanicsburg in a loosing effort was Emma Dunham with 13 kills and two blocks followed by Elly Schipfer recording 11 kills and one block.

Tippecanoe 3, Kenton Ridge 1: Rachel Wildermuth of Tippecanoe racked up 12 kills, four blocks and three aces. Tippecanoe won with set scores of 16-25, 25-12, 25-19 and 25-17.
