Staci Greene set a school record while helping Chaminade Julienne beat Clinton-Massie 69-24 in a Division II girls basketball sectional tournament opener on Saturday at Lebanon.

Greene set the school record for career three-point baskets in the win. Greene had three in the game to push her total to 153, passing Emily Michael’s mark of 152.

Eve Monaghan and Jordyn Varise led the way for CJ with 12 points apiece. Greene finished with nine.

CJ advances to face a familiar foe in Alter on Thursday night at Lebanon.

Alter 48, Dunbar 39: Shannon Hamilton recorded 16 points and Karlie Romer added 10 to lead Alter.

Ansonia 52, Triad 51: Mariah Troutwine poured in 26 points to pace Ansonia. Frani LeVan led Triad with 18 points.

Butler 51, Sidney 48: Sami Bardonaro tallied 20 points and Evan Neely tacked on 13 to pace Butler.

Catholic Central 56, Covington 49: Abbigail Peterson put up 18 points, Mallory Mullen added 14 and Meghan Foster 12 for Catholic Central. Morgan Kimmel and Claire Fraley had 13 points apiece to lead Covington.

Centerville 74, Fairborn 38: Cotie McMahon poured in 28 points and Kendal George added 13 for Centerville. Natalie Oktavec finished with 15 points for Fairborn.

Franklin Monroe 49, Tri-County North 8: Belle Cable chipped in 19 points and Franklin Monroe cruised to a win after opening the game on a 20-0 run.

Mechanicsburg 56, Russia 44: Kasey Schipfer led the way with 19 points and Grace Forrest added 11 and ‘Burg went on a 37-12 run midway through the game to take control.

Miamisburg 47, Piqua 27: Addison Frymoyer scored 12 points and Olivia Hammerle added 10 to lead ‘Burg, which won a tournament game for the first time since 2013.

Springboro 61, Northmont 44: Peyton Nation led Springboro with 16 points and Jordan Hobbs had 15.

West Liberty-Salem 50, Milton-Union 11: Selena Weaver paced WLS with 15 points and Grace Estes added 11.

Alter 68, Bethel-Tate 25: Austin Brogan tallied 17 points and Brady Uhl 16 to lead Alter.

Coldwater 50, Wapakoneta 35: Noah Miller had 14 points with 11 rebounds and Jay Muhlenkamp added 11 points for Coldwater.

Fort Loramie 42, Fort Recovery 40: Damon Mescher scored the winning basket for Fort Loramie with 11 seconds to play. Nate Meyer and Nick Brandewie chipped in 10 points apiece to lead Loramie.

Greenon 66, Madison Plains 52: Jaden Journell finished with 17 points and Clayton Minteer and Noah Mize tacked on 11 apiece to pace Greenon.

Minster 56, Anna 55: Trent Roetgerman spurred Minster with 17 points and Justin Nixon and Jacob Salazar added 12 apiece. Justin Murray poured in 27 points for Anna.

New Bremen 54, Arcanum 53: Nolan Bornhorst posted 14 points help New Bremen hold off an Arcanum rally. Carter Gray led Arcanum with 18 points.

Stivers 77, Northridge 58: Allen Lattimore tallied 15 points and DaJuan Allen, Ivynn Spears and Brendan Crump tacked on 10 apiece for Stivers.

Upper Scioto Valley 68, Triad 48: Dillon Nott scored 18 points and Batai Lease 14 for Triad in a losing effort.

Urbana 76, Mechanicsburg 50: Grant Hower led four players in double-digit scoring for Urbana with 17 points. Marion Krebehenne added 15 and Nick Weyrich 13. Kyle Smith paced ‘Burg with 18 points.

West Liberty-Salem 74, Miami East 41: Holden Nease recorded 22 points and Jack Eggleston and Caleb Siegenthaler each added 11 for WLS. The win was the 100th in WLS coach Darrin Leichty’s career. Brendon Bertsch and Sam Zapadka scored 13 points apiece for Miami East.

Boys Hockey

Beavercreek 2, Alter 0: Ben Duford tallied his fifth shutout of the season in goal and Cole Gutterman recorded his 200th career point for ‘Creek, which advanced to the SWOHSHL Championship game on Sunday.

Greater Western Ohio Conference Championships: Jake Kowalski and Mason Kleinberg each picked up wins in championship matches and Springboro repeated as GWOC champions.
