HS Roundup 2/15: Girls sectional basketball tournament continues

Four area teams won big Thursday night in the OHSAA Division II girls basketball sectional tournament.

Trotwood-Madison knocked off Graham, winning 76-28. Shai McGruder tallied 34 in the win.

Led by Kendall Clodfelter and Ashleigh Mader with 12 points each, Tippecanoe routed Belmont, 70-5.

Badin eliminated three-time and defending state champions Alter by a score of 43-32.

Monroe advanced to the second round of the sectional tournament with a 53-31 victory over Clinton-Massie.

Girls Basketball

Riverside 31, Bradford 26: Skipp Miller tallied 17 points in the losing effort.

Twin Valley South 63, Middletown Christian 23: Mylan Crews led all scorers with 14 points in the win. Ellie Veal and Marissa Lykin combined for 12 in the loss.

New Bremen 55, Delphos St. Johns 31: Jane Homan scored 14 points for New Bremen in the win. Taylor Zuber recorded 12 in the loss.

Defiance 36, St. Marys 30: Makena Mele tallied 19 points in the losing effort. Syd Cisco chipped in nine.
