HS Roundup 12/6: Franklin earns road win vs. Oakwood in SWBL showdown

Visiting Franklin pulled away from a tie game entering the fourth quarter, beating Oakwood 61-56 in Friday night boys basketball action.

Caden Johnson led four Franklin players in double-digit scoring with 15 points.

Tez Lattimore added 11 and Noah Rich and Zack Minton had 10 apiece.

Darren Rubin paced Oakwood with 17 points, Daniel Hu tacked on 15 and Will Maxwell 14.

The road win bumped Franklin to 3-0; Oakwood dropped to 2-1.

Boys Basketball

Allen East 67, New Knoxville 62: Carson Bierlein poured in 30 points in a losing effort for New Knoxville. Max Henschen added 16 and Sam Anspach 11.

Badin 50, Chaminade Julienne 47: Josh Hegemann scored four of his 13 points in the final 10 seconds as Badin held off a CJ second-half rally. Zach Switzer added 10 points for Badin. Anthony Solomon and Daniel Nauseef scored 12 point apiece for CJ.

Carroll 53, Roger Bacon 34: Sam Severt posted 20 points to pace Carroll.

Cin. Christian 78, Clark Montessori 59: Logan Woods poured in 30 points to pace Cin. Christian.

Coldwater 67, Kenton 64: Ethan Post put up 17 points, Noah Miller 16 points with 13 rebounds and Myles Blasingame drained the game-winner with a three-point basket.

Edgewood 67, Ross 46: John Shepherd paced Edgewood with 21 points.

Fairbanks 50, Triad 34: Drew Campbell totaled 14 points and Batai Lease tacked on 13 for Triad.

Fairfield 59, Sycamore 47: Zavian Ricks scored 20 points, Courtland Smith added 13 points with 11 rebounds and Sawiaha Ellis hauled in 11 rebounds for Fairfield.

Fort Loramie 49, Russia 38: Nick Brandewie chipped in 12 points for Fort Loramie. Mason Dapore tallied 25 points in the loss for Russia.

Greeneview 62, Catholic Central 34: Cole Allen chipped in 22 points and Gabe Caudill 13 to lead Greeneview. Ashton Young had 12 points for Catholic Central.

Hamilton 64, Mason 48: Trey Robinson scored 22 points and Hamilton went on a 34-18 run in the second half to earn the win.

Jackson Center 66, Houston 19: Aidan Reichert tallied 23 points and Mason Platfoot 10 to lead Jackson Center. Adam Winner had 10 points for Houston.

Lakota East 59, Princeton 49: Nate Johnson exploded for 34 points, shooting 13-of-18 from the field to lead Lakota East. Trevor Howard added 14 points.

Lakota West 78, Colerain 51: Julian Mackey finished with 22 points, Oscean Anuforo added 14 and Carter Combs 13 to pace Lakota West.

Madison 77, Waynesville 69: Grant Whisman poured in 33 points and Tristan Sipple tacked on 13 for Madison. Kohl Todd finished with 26 points and Bryce Nolbertowicz 25 for Waynesville.

McNicholas 61, Alter 59, OT: Larry Kocisko hit the game-winning shot for McNicholas as time expired. Brady Uhl paced Alter with 26 points and Jack Smith tacked on 18.

Miami East 58, Franklin Monroe 38: Brendon Bertsch racked up 15 points with seven rebounds, five assists and six steals to pace Miami East. Brayden Young added 12 points and Collen Gudorf 10.

Miamisburg 53, Lebanon 50: Colin Murphy, Anthony Coppock and Alex Ball each scored in double digits for Miamisburg.

Minster 57, Botkins 43: Trent Roetgerman chipped in 12 points and Bryan Falk and Eric Schmidt put up 11 apiece for Minster. Jacob Pleiman led Botkins with 22 points.

National Trail 78, Bradford 32: Cameron Harrison poured in 27 points and Zach Woodall and Tyler Weathington added 12 apiece to help National Trail move to 3-0.

New Miami 44, Seven Hills 29: Deanza Duncan scored 13 points to help New Miami improve to 3-0.

Northmont 49, Springboro 37: Patrick Ivory posted 16 points and Trent Freeman 12 for Northmont. Max Scott also had a pair of huge three-pointers as Northmont pulled away in the fourth.

Sidney 69, Piqua 50: Darren Taborn led four players in double-digit scoring for Sidney with 15 points. Dominick Durr added 14, Devin Taborn 13 and Lathan Jones 10. Kameron Darner and Iverson Ventura scored 12 points apiece for Piqua.

St. Marys 66, St. Henry 32: Ethan Steger and Jadin Davis each finished with over 20 points to pace St. Marys.

Thurgood Marshall 73, Belmont 67: Mekhi Elmore put up 29 points and Anthony McComb added 11 for Thurgood.

Tippecanoe 61, Xenia 38: Ben Knostoman recorded 20 points and Zach Frederick 13 for Tippecanoe.

Troy Christian 69, Middletown Christian 45: Isaac Gray put up 17 points for Troy Christian. Camisen Robertson led Middletown Christian with 20 points.

Versailles 66, Fort Recovery 58: Michael Stammen scored 21 points and Connor VanSkyock added 20 for Versailles. Brian Bihn led Fort Recovery with 16 points.

West Carrollton 69, Troy 59: Kalen McKinney poured in 28 points with nine rebounds to pace West Carrollton. Shaeden Olden had 17 points for Troy.

West Liberty-Salem 73, Northeastern 50: Holden Nease had 21 points, Matthew Loffing 20 and Jack Eggleston 14 to lead WLS.

Springboro 2, Walsh Jesuit 1: A.J. DeRosa put Springboro on the board off a Luke Halverson assist and J.D. Schumann also had a goal.
