HS Roundup 12/20: Eller paces Brookville in win versus Oakwood

The Brookville boys basketball squad bucketed 10 three-point baskets and held off an Oakwood rally in the final minute for a 75-71 victory Friday night.

A.J. Eller led the way for Brookville, sounding off with 30 points. Manny Willis added 16 points with 12 rebounds and Tommy Dafler 13 points.

Oakwood’s Darren Rubin scored 26 points, becoming the second player in school history to surpass the 1,000 career point mark.

Rubin is 89 points shy of Leo Flotron’s school scoring record set in 1979.

Boys Basketball

Arcanum 49, Covington 44: Carter Gray scored 24 points and Cameron Burke 13 to lead the way for Arcanum.

Cedarville 58, Greenon 46: Caleb McKinion put up 17 points and Colby Cross 14 for Cedarville, which opened the game on a 14-6 run and held on for a seventh consecutive win. Jaden Journell paced Greenon with 11 points.

Centerville 56, Beavercreek 45: Gabe Cupps netted 19 points and Mo Njie 18 to pace Centerville.

Emmanuel Christian 71, Middletown Christian 40: Casey Swank led all scoreres with 27 points and Fred Shropshire recorded 25 points with nine rebounds for Emmanuel Christian.

Fairlawn 76, Russia 56: Ashton and Skyler Piper each put up 22 points to pace Fairlawn and Isaac Ambos added 10.

Fort Loramie 50, St. Henry 46: Grant Albers finished with 17 points and Nolan Berning added 14 for Fort Loramie.

Greeneview 69, Southeastern 44: Gabe Caudill recorded 21 points and Cole Allen and Rhett Burtch tacked on 14 apiece to lead Greeneview. Cooper Bair had 14 points for Southeastern.

Hamilton 59, Colerain 48: Trey Robinson totaled 21 points, Malik Verdon added 15 and Kristian Walton 12 for Hamilton.

Jefferson 58, Miami Valley 52: Kendall Jones tallied 19 points and D’Shawn Ferguson and Janson Kincer added 15 apiece for Jefferson. Jake Wang and Pruthvi Choudary scored 12 points each for Miami Valley.

Lakota East 60, Middletown 47: Kaden Fuhrman led a balanced Lakota East attack with 12 points. Rob Thompson tallied 15 points for Middletown, which had Middies legend Jerry Lucas in attendance.

Lakota West 68, Fairfield 61: Julian Mackey poured in 27 points, including an 8-for-9 performance from the foul line, as Lakota West rallied from an eight-point deficit at the half. Zavian Ricks led Fairfield with 17 points.

Miami East 60, Twin Valley South 47: Keegan Mahaney had 14 points, Collen Gudorf 13 and Noah King 11 to help Miami East move to 3-0 in conference play.

Milton-Union 67, Madison 63: Blake Brumbaugh totaled 19 points, Sam Case 13 and Nathan Brumbaugh 11 for Milton-Union, which scored 21 points in the final quarter to hand Madison its first loss.

Mississinawa Valley 54, Tri-Village 43: Max Dirmeyer and Blake Scholl paced Mississinawa Valley with 16 points apiece.

National Trail 81, Tri-County North 40: Four players scored in double-digits for unbeaten National Trail, led by Cameron Harrison with 21. Michael Leal added 14, Zach Woodall 13 and Tyler Weathington 10.

New Miami 49, Summit Country Day 42: Deanza Duncan tallied 24 points, Jordan Robinette added 14 and Elijah Faulkner hauled in 12 rebounds to help New Miami move to 6-1.

Sidney 73, Troy 68, OT: Devin and Darren Taborn combined for 31 points to pace Sidney. Shaeden Olden drilled a three-pointer in the closing seconds for Troy to send the game into overtime.

Stebbins 78, Piqua 59: Jakob Reed chipped in 22 points, Jalen Tolbert tacked on 17 and Ryan Hickey 14 for Stebbins. Garrett Schrubb paced Piqua with 14 points.

Stivers 87, Thurgood Marshall 82, OT: Antonnio Aubrey and Doug Spears had crucial free throws down the stretch to spur a Stivers rally. DaJuan Allen led the way with 27 points and Allen Lattimore added 19.

Tippecanoe 63, Fairborn 47: Ben Knostman led the way for Tippecanoe with 25 points. Gavin Garlitz added 14 and Zach Frederick 12. Dwight Lewis scored 18 points for Fairborn.

Waynesville 62, East Clinton 37: Paul Dotson tallied 13 points with nine rebounds and Ryan Papanek and Kohl Todd tacked on 12 apiece to pace Waynesville.

West Liberty-Salem 71, Triad 46: Holden Nease netted 15 points and Noah Wilcoxon and Caleb Siegenthaler added 12 apiece to lead WLS. Batai Lease led Triad with 11 points.

Xenia 58, Greenville 44: Dylan Hoosier scored 14 points and Shawn Thigpen added 13 points with nine rebounds for Xenia. Marcus Wood and Nolan Curtis each had 14 points for Greenville.
