HS Roundup 8/20: ‘Boro beats Carroll in girls soccer

Bridgette Herman, Olivia Page and Natalie Haverland each had a goal and an assist to propel Springboro to a 4-1 win versus Carroll in girls high school soccer action on Monday.

Springboro pulled away early with three first half goals, improving to 2-0 with the victory.

Carroll fell to 0-1.

Boys Soccer

Bethel 4, Dixie 0: Aiden Flomerfelt knocked in a pair of scores Nick Schmidt netted a goal and two assists to open the season for Bethel.

Girls Soccer

Tecumseh 1, Fairborn 0: Bridget Harris tallied the lone goal in the first half off an assist from Rachel Shroades.

Boys Golf

Botkins 185, Indian Lake 193: Nick Fischio earned medalist honors with a 40 for Botkins and Alex Bajwa tacked on a 47. Matthew Risner led Lake with a 43.

Brookville 159, Bellbrook 172: Jagan Wilkerson paced Brookville with a 35 and Parker Holt had 36. Benton Miller tallied a 40 for Bellbrook.

Fort Loramie 178, Jackson Center 184: Mitchell Puthoff recorded a 40 for Fort Loramie and Zach Pleiman tacked on a 44.

Minster 151, Coldwater 172: Nathan Kaiser finished with a 39 and Carson Muhlenkamp added 40 in a losing effort for Coldwater.

St. Henry 172, New Bremen 212: Lucas Grieshop’s 42 led the way for St. Henry. Cole Hemmelgarn had a 45 for New Bremen.

Troy 162, Chaminade Julienne 193: Holden Scribner shot a 36 and Nathan Henderson added a 40 for Troy. Andrew Detmer led CJ with 44.

Twin Valley South 197, National Trail 221: Chance Parks paced TVS with a 45 and Austin Knapp tallied a 48 for National Trail.

Versailles 183, New Knoxville 216: Connor VanSkyock put up a 42 for Versailles and Sam Anspach had a 49 for New Knoxville.

Girls Golf

Coldwater 204, Minster 236: Laney Finke’s 48 helped carry Coldwater to victory. Emma Eckstein added a 50 and Lexi Wright 53.

Greeneview 230, Franklin 235: Kalyn Biggs led the field with a 52 for Greeneview.

Greenville 214, Tippecanoe 238: Jada Garland posted a 52 and Kyle Beam added 53 for Greenville. Sydney Lange had the low score of 49 for Tippecanoe.

Lebanon 181, Miamisburg 219: Maddie Owens carded a 40, including five pars, to lead Lebanon and Grace Anspach had a 44 to pace Miamisburg.

National Trail 187, Franklin Monroe 233: Makenna Jones finished one under par at 35 and Savanna Abner added a 48 for National Trail.

St. Henry 178, New Bremen 184: Ellen Naumann led the way for St. Henry with a 38. Caylie Hall had a 39 for New Bremen.

Triad 231, Northeastern 235: Kayleigh Boldman’s 52 helped Triad edge Northeastern. Paden Birmele led Northeastern at 53.

Lady Elk Invitational: Marissa Wenzler led the field with a 69 to help Centerville finish in third. New Albany won the tournament overall and Lakota East placed fourth. Sydney Wesson of Ben Logan shot a career-high 77 to finish in the top ten.

Girls Volleyball

Eaton 3, National Trail 0: Maley Tinstman totaled 22 assists and Shaylen Perry and Courtney Giffen had six kills apiece for Eaton.

Mechanicsburg 3, Riverside 2: Ava Mayo notched 12 kills, Emma Dunham had five blocks and Audrey Ayars 20 assists for Mechanicsburg.

Tecumseh 3, Fairborn 0: Jill Williams recorded 17 kills, Bailey Drews added seven digs and Tecumseh picked up a win to start the season.
