H.S. Results for 5/1: Kenton Ridge baseball ousts Tecumseh

In a CBC baseball showdown, Kenton Ridge emerged victorious, topping Tecumseh 5-4.

Despite being outhit 12-5 by Tecumseh, Kenton Ridge managed to pull off the win in the bottom of the 7th inning.

Kaleb Meeks earned the win for Kenton Ridge, moving him to 4-1 on the season.

Reid Hale had a successful night all around, striking out nine batters from the mound and going 3-for-4 at bat with a double and two RBIs.

Evan Maxwell went 2-for-3 on the night and both of his hits resulted in doubles.

The win clinches the Kenton Ridge Trail Division of the CBC for Kenton Ridge, the first threepeat for the team since 1998.

Kenton Ridge moves to 16-4 (9-1 in the CBC), while Tecumseh falls to 11-12 (5-5 in the CBC).

Baseball

Beavercreek 5, Centerville 1: Riley Poulton earned a triple an RBI in Centerville’s loss. Alex Firdson and Grant Lugon also chipped in a double each for the Elks.

Russia 4, Anna 2: Cohee earned the win for Russia with thirteen strikeouts. Cohee also allowed only one hit while scoring twice for Russia in their win. Drees went 2-for-3 with a double, a two run homerun and four RBIs.

Tri-Village 10, Bethel 9: Christian Ricker led Tri-Village offensively, going 3-for-5 on the night with two runs scored and one RBI. Trey Frech chipped in a double and an RBI, while Luke Wheeler went 1-for-4 with a double and three RBIs. Jonny Wilson earned the win for Tri-Village, striking out seven batters in the process.

New Bremen 15, Mississinawa Valley 0: S. Alig pitched a no hitter to win the game for New Bremen, striking out two batters in the process. L. Vonderhaar led the team offensively, going 2-for-2 with three runs. J. Tenkman pitched in three RBIs.

Indian Lake 5, Graham 1: Alex Jacobs struck out seven batters to lead Indian Lake to victory and earned the win. Poole had the lone RBI for Graham, while Dylan Albright and Alex Jacobs each had RBIs for Indian Lake.

Wayne 8, Springfield 2: Tyler Wynkoop earned the win for Wayne with three strikeouts. Donchez led the team offensively with two hits, a double and two RBIs. Riley also chipped in two hits and a double while Reedy had two hits.

Ross 10, Talawanda 0: Thomas House set the single season record for strikeouts for Ross with is seven strikeouts to earn the win. Drew Huffman chipped in offensively, going 3-for-4 with three RBIs, while Blake Niefield went 2-for-2 with two RBIs.

Softball

Monroe 20, Valley View 2: Sarah Eschmeyer, Ashley McNabb and Mikayla Decker each earned one RBI, while Sam Scwab had two and Alexis Arnold and Sam Key earned three. Sorrell had a double for Valley View in the loss. Wagner was the winning pitcher for Monroe.

Badin 14, Carroll 4: Gracie McHugh earned the win for Badin with four strikeouts, allowing only four runs on the night. McHugh also went 1-for-3 with three RBIs. Maddie Curtner was 2-for-4 with two RBIs, while Josie Link was 1-for-2 with two RBIs. M. Stevens, T. Davis and C. Joseph each had RBIs for Carroll in the loss.

Ross 7, Talawanda 0: Kenzie Meyer earned the win for Ross with six strikeouts, allowing only two hits. Maddy Foster went 2-for-4 on the night with two stolen bases, while Emily Poling was perfect at bat, going 3-for-3 with two runs scored and two RBIs. Ally Ivy chipped in a triple and two RBIs.

Hamilton 12, Middletown 1: Ashley Halcomb had a stellar night offensively with three runs and a homerun, while Mya Halcomb mirrored her actions, also earning three runs and a homerun on the night. Allie Hudson went 2-for-2 with a double.

Mississinawa Valley 13, Randolph Southern 12: Bailey Johnson, Kinsie Blocher, Lindsay Johns and Makayla Coning all went 4-for-5 on the night with multiple RBIs. Paxton Scholl went 3-for-4 with one RBI, while Taydem Elson went 1-for-4 with two RBIs.

Kenton Ridge 10, Tecumseh 0: Madison Hall had a perfect night offensively, going 3-for-3 at bat with a double, a triple and four RBIs. Carly Turner earned the win on the mound and also went 2-for-4 with a double. Peyton Fleming and Lexee Trainer each tacked on a double.

West Liberty-Salem 5, Minster 2: Kelsey Day had an all around solid performance on the night, earning the win on the mound while going 2-for-3 at bat with a homerun and two RBIs. Kenedie Cox was 3-for-4 with a triple and RBI. T. Homan and J. Berelshan each had a hit for Minster.

Fairborn 12, Xenia 11: Fairborn earned the GWOC South Title with the win. Kelsie Coleman led Fairborn offensively, going 4-for-4 with three doubles and a triple. Jordan Wilson also was perfect at bat, going 3-for-3 with a homerun and a double. Kiara McConnaughey earned the save for the Skyhawks.

Boys Tennis

Tippecanoe 4, Miamisburg 1: Colin Achterberg, Clayton Snider (singles), Noah Blake/Ian Steward and Levi Berning/Christian Blake (doubles) all won their sets to win the match for Tippecanoe. T. Singleton had the lone win for Miamisburg.

Dayton Christian 4, Greenview 1: Hodge, Withers (singles), West/Charlie and Simms/Thompson all won their sets to win the match for Dayton Christian. Link earned the lone singles win for Greenview.

Preble Shawnee 5, West Carrollton 0: Pierce Elliot, Chris Allen, Alec Hamblin (singles), Gunner Crank/Jackson Carter and Matthew Back/Michael Hazelwood (doubles) all won their sets for Preble Shawnee to sweep West Carrollton.

Tecumseh 5, Kenton Ridge 0: Mitchell Foland, Michael Green, Drew Sarihan (singles), Christian Hunt/Johan Goksor and Scott Sinkhorn/Jacob Lewis (doubles) all won their sets for Tecumseh in their sweep of Kenton Ridge.

Catholic Central 4, Bellefontaine 1: Brougher, Kelly, Roberts (singles) and Woeber/Kavanaugh (doubles) each won their sets to win the match for Catholic Central. The doubles team of Hartley and Sailors had the lone win for Bellefontaine.

Boys Volleyball

Carroll 3, Mason 1: Carroll won in four sets, winning their sets 25-9, 25-13 and 25-13. Mason managed to steal one set 25-20. Gard had 22 kills and four blocks, while Brun had 12 kills and three aces. Bethel had 36 assists and 12 digs.
