PODCAST: Kevin McGuff looks back on 5 years at Ohio State, previews upcoming season and beyond


Before his sixth season as head coach of the Ohio State women’s basketball team begins, Kevin McGuff sat down with us for a long chat about the state of the program. 

The Hamilton native’s first five seasons have featured some highs and lows, winning a pair of Big Ten championships and breaking the Sweet 16 drought but still failing to earn that second Final Four appearance that has eluded the program now for 25 years.

With a decorated class — including Kelsey Mitchell, the No. 2 scoring in NCAA history — having left and a rebuilt roster in place, McGuff’s program is undoubtedly at a crossroads.

Here’s what he had to say about his time in Columbus so far, his approach to rebuilding the roster on the fly this summer and his outlook for the future.
