Ohio State football: Nation’s No. 1 receiver commits to be a Buckeye

Ohio State football got a major commitment Friday morning.

In a video shared on his Twitter page, Julian Fleming revealed he has chosen to be a Buckeye.

The Catawissa Southern Columbia High School product is a five-star prospect and the No. 1-ranked player in Pennsylvania.

He is the top-rated receiver in the class of 2020 and the No. 6 player overall in the country.

He picked Ohio State from a group of finalists that also included Georgia, Clemson, Alabama and Penn State.

Fleming's commitment gives new Ohio State head coach nine for the 2020 class, which rated No. 11 in the nation and No. 2 in the Big Ten (behind Penn State) according to 247Sports before adding Fleming.

It also represents a return of sorts to the Keystone State, one Jim Tressel recruited heavily but Urban Meyer not so much.

From 2004-11, Ohio State signed 14 players from Pennsylvania, most notably Terrelle Pryor of Jeannette in 2008.

Since then, there have been only three Buckeyes from there — brothers Malik and Marcus Hooker of New Castle and Noah Spence of Harrisburg Bishop McDevitt.
