“We really look forward to coaching Kaleb for his junior season,” Ohio State coach Chris Holtmann said in a statement. “Kaleb received valuable information in this process.”

Wesson led the Buckeyes in scoring (14.6 points per game), rebounds (6.9) and blocks (21) last season as Ohio State went 20-15 and made the NCAA Tournament for the second year in a row.
Holtmann told reporters in his season-ending press conference Wesson would test the NBA draft waters with the intention of maintaining his eligibility, an opportunity an increasing number of players have taken in recent years thanks to changes in NCAA rules.
“He and his family really went about this process in great way,” Holtmann said in the statement Tuesday. “We stayed in regular communication and I know he and his family appreciated the feedback they received from the NBA advisory committee as well as NBA organizations.”

Wesson’s return, the maturation of a well-regarded sophomore class and the addition of the Big Ten’s best recruiting class has expectations mounting for the Buckeyes in 2019-20.
OSU should also benefit from the addition of point guard C.J. Walker, a transfer from Florida State who sat out last season.

“As we begin the work ahead for the 2019-20 season I know Kaleb understands the work ahead and I know he is anxious to join his teammates,” Holtmann said.
Ohio State will open the season in Columbus against Cincinnati.
The Bearcats, who have a new coach in John Brannen, also got good news Tuesday with the announcement leading scorer Jarron Cumberland of Wilmington removed his name from the NBA draft pool and will be back in Red and Black for his senior season.
Dayton star forward Obi Toppin announced the same decision Tuesday as well.
