Ohio History Connection in Columbus to feature Kirk Herbstreit in new sports exhibit

Visitors can read about Herbstreit’s accomplishments in the “Identity” section, which focuses on Ohio athletes on and off the field and how they have impacted the perception of Ohio. The Massillon-McKinley football rivalry and the Dawg Pound at Cleveland Browns stadium are also featured in this section.

“Ohio–Champion of Sports is a next generation exhibit for the Ohio History Connection that connects visitors to our state’s national sports history in new and modern ways,” said Burt Logan, Ohio History Connection executive director in a press release. “It’s unlike anything we’ve ever done.”

The interactive exhibition allows “visitors to test their basketball skills at the Wall of Hoops, record a ‘victory dance’ to share with family and friends, run an obstacle course, and record their ‘One Minute Legends’ sports story. They can also contribute their own sports photos to the museum experience. Collectively, these activities allow attendees to put their personal stamp on the exhibit.”
