Mechanicsburg’s Hosier wins state bowling title; Northwestern third

Mechanicsburg senior Ally Hosier capped her high school bowling career with an individual state title. Hosier posted a 233-178-245 – 656 at in the Girls Division II State Bowling Championship at Wayne Webb’s Columbus Bowl on Friday.

Mechanicsburg – the defending D-II state team champions – bowed out after a loss to Norton in the first match of the championship round and finished sixth overall.

Northwestern had the momentum and the No. 1 seed heading into the championship round. Three Northwestern bowlers placed in the top 10 individually with sophomore Megan Fricke (627), senior Madison Current (607) and senior Ashlyn Stollings (604) placing third, sixth and seventh, respectively. But it was Coldwater that came up big late claiming a fourth D-II state girls title. Northwestern finished third.
