Luke Kennard scores in double figures in NBA debut

Franklin native Luke Kennard reached double figures Friday night in his NBA debut for the Detroit Pistons.

Kennard came off the bench to score 11 points in the Pistons’ 115-111 loss to the Washington Wizards. The 6-foot-5 guard hit 5 of 8 shots from the field, including 1 of 4 from 3-point range.

Kennard, the 12th overall pick of the Pistons in the 2017 draft, added two assists and grabbed two rebounds. He did not play in the Pistons’ season opener earlier this week.

Kennard was a two-time Mr. Ohio Basketball in high school and spent two seasons at Duke.
