Legendary basketball referee Red Strauthers dies at 96

Red Strauthers, the legendary high school, college and NBA referee from Dayton, died Saturday. He was 96.

Strauthers is survived by Maxine, his wife of 23 years, a daughter Marilyn and four step-children. He donated his body to Wright State’s Boonshoft School of Medicine.
