Prep Roundup: Urbana girls, Shawnee boys win at Graham

ST. PARIS — Urbana High School senior Kaley Moss won three events and set three meet records as the Hillclimbers girls team won the Graham Track and Field Invitational on Friday.

Moss set a meet record in the 300 meter hurdles (45.86) and the pole vault (10-6). Moss ran on the beginning leg of 1,600 relay team with Sadie Melvin, Tessa McManamay and Christy Finney which had a meet-record mark of 4:14.25.

Urbana finished with 91 points, seven points better than second place West Liberty-Salem.

Shawnee junior Tyler Greenwood set a meet record in the 800 (2:02.79) and won the 1,600 (4:37.25). The Braves won the boys meet with 119 points.

Softball

Macie Jenkins plated two runs on a sacrifice fly in the eighth as Triad got past host Southeastern 5-3 in Ohio Heritage Conference action.

Becca Carpenter had 13 strikeouts and Katie Mitchell’s RBI groundout in the seventh tied the game for the Trojans (9-5, 4-4 OHC).

Maddi Ehrenborg and Dayna Ober had two hits each for the Cardinals (11-3, 7-0 OHC).

• Andrea Markin RBI single in the eighth helped give West Liberty-Salem a 4-3 win over host Northeastern.

McDaniel had two doubles and all three RBIs for the Jets (6-5, 5-3 OHC).

• Madison Tabor had 12 strikeouts and two hits, Kelsey Robinson knocked in two runs as Springfield (6-6) beat Springboro, 6-4.

Baseball

Nick Wiseman and Bo Whip had RBI singles in a three-run third inning as host Northeastern (5-5, 4-4 OHC) defeated West Liberty-Salem 3-2.

• Nic Arnette had four hits and three RBIs and Austin Ary chipped in 3 RBIs as Cedarville (7-4, 5-2 OHC) beat Mechanicsburg, 15-7.
