That deficit proved too much for the Greater Western Ohio Conference North-leading Trojans (8-4), as they never took the lead in the second half as they lost their second game in a row and the third of their past four.
Three players — Jackson Replogle, Brett Kubaszewski, and Eric Meininger — accounted for all but nine of the Elks’ points, with Replogle’s 19 leading the way. Kubaszewski had 14, and Meininger added 12.
After struggling in the first half due to foul trouble, Troy’s Cody May finished with a game-high 24 points — 21 of which came in the second half.
Xenia 96, Springfield 93, 2OT: Xenia's high-flying offense got a taste of its own medicine on its trip to Springfield, but the Bucs (9-2) overcame a 12-point deficit in the fourth quarter to earn the victory.
The Bucs hit 11 3-pointers and had five players in double-figures, led by Cody Phillippi and Marques Greene, who each had 20. Phillippi also added eight assists.
Despite their highest offensive output of the season, the Wildcats (4-6) didn’t have enough firepower to finish the game.
Springfield’s Ryan Minney led all scorers with 25 points, and Brantley Davis added 22 in the loss.
Miamisburg 58, Wayne 57:
Thanks to a strong second-half surge, the Vikings toppled the host Warriors (4-9) for the first time since joining the Greater Western Ohio Conference.
Trailing by 10 at the half, Miamisburg (7-4) clawed back, ultimately pulling through with a 17-10 fourth quarter to come away from with the win.
Miamisburg senior John Giles gave a gutty performance, playing all 32 minutes, knocking down five threes, and scoring 23 points.
