A.J. Green misses Bengals practice with calf injury

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver A.J. Green has a calf injury that caused him to miss practice today.

Green suffered the injury with five minutes left in Sunday’s 28-14 loss at Dallas after catching a 5-yard pass on fourth and 3 to extend the team’s second touchdown drive. Green returned for the final play of the drive which was the last offensive snap of the game for the Bengals.

Also sitting out today were tight end Tyler Eifert (back/ankle), linebacker Karlos Dansby (non-injury related) and left guard Clint Boling (shoulder).

Eifert hasn’t practiced since injuring his back Oct. 3.

Boling suffered the shoulder injury in the Miami game and was listed as questionable for Dallas, but he played all 70 snaps.

Four Bengals were listed as limited — running backs Jeremy Hill (chest) and Rex Burkhead (hamstring), safety George Iloka (shoulder) and tight end C.J. Uzomah (ankle).

Wide receiver James Wright, who missed the Dallas game with a hamstring injury, was a full participant.

Earlier report

1:57 p.m. — Any hope the Cincinnati Bengals had of getting Tyler Eifert back for Sunday’s game at New England may be fading as the Pro Bowl tight end was not at practice today during the portion open to the media.

Eifert hasn’t practiced since Sept. 26, which is when he injured his back just when it looked as though he was past the ankle injury that cost him all of training camp and the first four games of the regular season.

Also not practicing today were wide receiver A.J. Green, linebacker Karlos Dansby and left guard Clint Boling, who played with a shoulder injury Sunday in Dallas.

The official reason for the Green and Dansby absences will be on the practice report later this afternoon.
