The Dayton Flyers won their first two games without the biggest player on their roster,  6-foot-11 center Jordy Tshimanga, and it’s uncertain when he will return. He has been sidelined since October with a knee issue.

"Our medical staff is in complete control of that in terms of when he's ready," coach Anthony Grant said Saturday after a 90-61 victory against Charleston Southern at UD Arena, "and Jordy knows his body. We're not going to rush anything with him. His health is our primary concern, so we're going to make sure when he is ready to go, that's when he'll be ready to go. We like the direction he's headed. I wish I could give you a timetable, but I don't know. We'll take his best interests at heart before we get him out there."

Tshimanga, a redshirt junior transfer from Nebraska, has watched the first two games from the bench in street clothes. His teammates remain optimistic about his status.

“I can’t wait for Jordy to get out there,” forward Obi Toppin said. “He’ll be back soon.”
