Future Ohio State Buckeyes cornerback transfers to Lakota West

Jyaire Brown, a cornerback in the class of 2022 who committed to the Ohio State Buckeyes in April, announced Tuesday he will attend Lakota West High School the next two years.

The 6-foot, 185-pound Brown, who was born in Cincinnati, will transfer from Warren Easton Charter High School in New Orleans, La., to Lakota West.

Brown was the first player from the 2022 class to verbally commit to Ohio State. He ranks 122nd in the 247Sports.com composite rankings, and he’s the 16th-ranked cornerback.

Brown joins a Lakota West program that finished 7-4 last season. The Firebirds made their first playoff appearance since 2014.
