Dayton offers scholarship to 2019 guard from Mount Zion Christian Academy


The Dayton Flyers offered a scholarship to Mareng Gatkuoth, a 6-foot-6 guard in the class of 2019. He announced the offer Saturday on Twitter.

Gatkuoth is a senior at Mount Zion Christian Academy in Durham, N.C. Prior to moving to Mount Zion, Gatkuoth lived in Anchorage, Alaska. He’s of Sudanese descent, according to PhenomHoopsReport.com.

Gatkuoth took an unofficial visit to Pittsburgh in the spring. He has one other offer, according to VerbalCommits.com, from New Orleans. Dayton has one scholarship open in 2019.
