But I have to wonder how many people saw it.
The NFL dominates Sundays now (and rightfully so) and the baseball playoffs overshadow NASCAR’s Chase for the Sprint Cup for a few weeks. That’s one reason I’m in favor of cutting down the season considering the sport starts almost two months earlier than baseball and finishes a month later.
• Colt McCoy looks like the real deal in Cleveland, and despite wins over New Orleans and New England, I want to see him go through a full season of work to see if he can hold up. Still, Browns fans have to be excited about a young backfield that includes McCoy and Peyton Hillis. And who would’ve thought Eric Mangini is safer in his job at this point of the season than Bengals coach Marvin Lewis?
• Thumbs up to the Greater Western Ohio Conference football teams for an impressive opening round of the high school football playoffs. Would’ve been nice to see Troy win, but with a slew of juniors the Trojans should bounce back nicely in 2011.
• If I wake up and see the Bengals lost to the Steelers on Monday night, then Terrell Owens’ meltdown starts in 3 ... 2 ... 1.
