DePriest didn’t hear his name called in the last four rounds, but not long after the draft ended, he signed as an undrafted free agent with the Baltimore Ravens. In the coming months, he’ll get a chance to earn a job in the NFL. He would be the first graduate of the new Springfield High School to do so.
The All-American linebacker will get a chance to play for a franchise known for its defense. The Ravens also have two former Alabama linebackers: linebackers C.J. Mosley and Courtney Upshaw.
“It’s definitely a better situation for me,” DePriest said. “I fit their scheme. It’s exciting. I get to play with a few guys I’ve already played with.”
