Bengal bites: list of top retired players tilts to offense as Ickey Woods makes the grade

The Bengals rolled out another chunk of the top 50 retired former Cincinnati players Tuesday, and while none of the names ranked by fans and media between Nos. 30-21 are likely to surprise anyone, the order surely can be debated among eight offensive and two defensive standouts.

Running back Ickey Woods (1988-’91) had a short stay with the Bengals due to injury, but he pulled in at No. 24, well  ahead of No. 30 Tommy Cassanova (1972-’77), the former safety/punt returner.

The only defenders to make Tuesday’s list were Casanova and former cornerback Louis Breeden (1977-’87) at No. 28.

As explained at bengals.com, this celebration of the team's 50th season is comprised of voting by more than 160,000 fan votes, which counted for half the index, and the votes of 24 media members who either have covered the team or cover it now.

Here are players 40-31 and players 50-41.

How do you think this list is shaking out?
