The Dayton Dragons benefited from a pair of ninth-inning throwing errors to beat the Lake County Captains 5-3 on Sunday in Eastlake to end the first half of the Midwest League season.
Tied 3-3 in the ninth, Dragons Ryan Wright and Juan Silva reached based on errors, the second which scored Wright. Silva made it 5-3 on wild pitch after advancing to third on Kyle Waldrop’s sacrifice.
Dayton went 16-13 the final 29 games of the first half to finish with a 30-40 record. The 70-game second half begins Friday.
