TREIBER, Catharine

TREIBER (Rudolph), Catharine Charlotte

Age 94 of Vandalia, passed away Wednesday, December 2, 2020. Catharine was born at home on October 25, 1926, in Old North Dayton, Ohio, to German immigrant parents,

Herman and Katherine (Balle) Rudolph, the oldest of their four children. Catharine was a 1944 graduate of Kiser High School and a 1948 graduate of the Good Samaritan Hospital School of Nursing. She spent her career lovingly caring for her patients as a Registered Nurse with Good Samaritan Hospital and Barney Children's Medical Center, now known as Dayton Children's Hospital. Catharine loved cooking, baking, sewing, antiques, traveling, and was an avid Reds and Buckeyes fan. She always had a positive outlook, a wonderful sense of

humor, and it seemed she was always taking care of someone. She made hundreds of homemade blankets which were given to the women's shelter in Dayton. Catharine's true purpose was shown through her love of the Lord and her family. Born and raised in the Catholic faith, Catharine also touched many lives through her devotion to the United Methodist church family she joined in the early 1950's. She and her late

husband, Robert came to Vandalia in 1962 and later became members of the Vandalia United Methodist Church where they spent over 40 years raising their family and building long-lasting friendships. Over the last few years, Catharine

returned to her Catholic roots as a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Parish in Dayton. Preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 60 years, Robert C. Treiber, her dear Uncle Carl and Aunt Millie Balle; two brothers, William Rudolph & wife, Rosa Mae and Paul Rudolph & wife, Rosemary; two nephews, Michael and Scott Smith, along with numerous loved ones. She is survived by daughter, Kathleen Jo Treiber of Lebanon, OH, son, Charles R. Treiber of Tipp City, and daughter,

Rebecca (Rudy) Wells of Butler Twp.; 6 grandchildren, Joshua Treiber, Anne Rebecca Moore, Adam Treiber, Luke Treiber, Charlotte Wells and Andrew Wells; 1 great-grandson, Mason Treiber; one sister, Anna Marie Smith, along with many dear nieces and nephews.
