Lula Thurston, age 86 of Lebanon, passed away Sunday morning, September 1, 2024 at Kettering Health in Dayton. She was born in MIddletown, Ohio on December 30, 1937 to William and Rachel(Brown) Kemplin. Lula was preceded in death by her parents; Husband Jack Thurston; sisters Wanda, Janet, Joan, Carol; Brothers, Leon, Robert and Donald.

She is survived by her son, Rick (Maria) Macduff; - 4 grandchildren, Christopher Donatelli, Angelina Donatelli, Jessie (Casey) Heinbaugh, Julie French; great grandchildren, Jackson, Jonathan, Jace, Finn, Terry (Shelly) Macduff; two grandchildren, Ashley(Jeremy) Astin; Justin (Caitlyn) Vincent; great grandchildren, Karleigh, Ellis and Cameron; sister, Clara Smallwood and many nieces and nephews.

Lou was a remarkable woman known for her passion for life and her many achievements, and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Lou was a three-time golf champion showcasing her exceptional skill and dedication to the sport. She was a proud member of Towne Boulevard Church, where she found great joy and fellowship. An ardent Ohio State Buckeye fan, Lou never missed a game and lived life with the same enthusiasm and spirit that she brought to her favorite team. Her family was the light of her life, and she cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who adored her deeply.

Known for her fierce competitiveness, Lou was also a legendary card player, often seen with a radiant smile and her signature belly laugh that could light up any room. Her zest for life and her loving presence will be remembered fondly by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Lou's life of generosity, joy, love, and laughter will continue to inspire and comfort those who were fortunate enough to be part of her remarkable life.

Visitation will be from 10am- 12pm on Saturday, September 7, 2024 at Breitenbach Anderson Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will follow at 12pm with Pastor Mark officiating. Entombment will be at the Venice Memorial Gardens cemetery in Venice, Florida.
