Crawford, Todd Alan
CRAWFORD, Todd A., of Dayton, Ohio passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton after a very short battle with colon cancer. He was surrounded by his family. Todd was born on October 14, 1966 in Greenville, Ohio to Joyce (Good) Mangas and Marvin Crawford, both of whom survive in Greenville. Todd was the younger brother of Chad Crawford who also survives in Lafollette, Tennessee. Additionally, Todd is survived by a step-brother, Joel (and Donna) Mangas of Louisville, Kentucky; step-sister, Dena (and Dwight) Wulbur of Versailles, Ohio; aunts, uncles and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and step-father. Todd graduated from Arcanum High School in 1984 and enlisted in the Air Force Reserve. He earned his Associates Degree from Sinclair Community College in 2002. In his early adult life he had numerous careers, including working for NCR and the TSA at the Dayton International Airport. In later years, he became the best Treasury Management Vice President at PNC Bank in Dayton. This year, Todd was one of the top finalists for the highest award at the bank, the PNC Performance Award. No matter what the occasion, Todd was always the first to volunteer, first to give back and first to be present. He never shied away from hard work especially in his beloved historic Oregon District neighborhood where he lived for more than 25 years and served as an elected trustee. He was always helping his many friends and neighbors with any odd job or request. Todd was a friend to everyone he met. He was the first to give you a smile, a hug or whatever you needed at the moment. Todd was a member of many non-profit boards during his lifetime including the Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Miami Valley Fund Development Committee, Child Care Choices of Miami County, The Muse Machine, The Human Race Theatre Company and his beloved Associate Board at the Dayton Art Institute (DAI). He was immensely proud of his work with the DAI Associate Board, having served from 2016-2019 and committing to an additional 4 years (2020-2024). He served as the DAI Art Ball Chair in 2019 and was prepared to serve as their Oktoberfest Chair in 2024. Todd will be forever missed by his family and hundreds of friends. A visitation will be held at Tobias Funeral Home, 5471 Far Hills Avenue, Dayton, Ohio 45429 from 4 PM to 7 PM on Thursday, October 26th, 2023. Inurnment of his cremated remains will take place at Dayton's Woodland Cemetery and Arboretum at a later date.
