BOND, Janet
Janet Bond was born September 23, 1937, in Springfield, Ohio, the daughter of Lafey B. and Helen (Knox) Jordan. She graduated from Springfield High School, received her nurses training at Community Hospital School of Nursing, earned a B.S. in Health Education from Central State University and completed a Critical Care Internship Program at the University of Michigan Hospital, Ann Arbor, Michigan. Her nursing career included 4 years as an Industrial Nurse at International Harvester Co., 7 years as an Emergency Room Nurse at Community Hospital, 15 years as a School Nurse/Health Educator with New Carlisle Bethel School System, and 4 years as a Critical Care Medicine Nurse at the University of Michigan Hospital. Janet was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Barbara Jean Davy; a sister, Irene (Carl) Newsome; 2 aunts, Verna Horn and Alice Hornand and a nephew, Keith Alan Davy. She leaves her loving
husband of 34 years, James D. Bond; a son, Neal (Beth) Shambaugh; a daughter, Sally (Terry) Bush; stepsons, Jonathan (Misty) and Keith (Matt) Bond; 8 grandchildren, Greg and
Jessica Shambaugh, Madison and Kelly, Sophia and Andrew Bond, Lilly and Claire Teers and a great-granddaughter, Bailee Elizabeth Shambaugh. Other survivors include a nephew,
Kenneth Davy; a niece, Tammy (Matt) Smith; many cousins, and best friend, Dotty Pierce. Janet enjoyed bowling, golfing, flower gardening, reading, antiquing and collecting. She was a member of the Lawrenceville Church of God, Lawrenceville, Ohio where she sang with the former "Heirs of Abraham". Viewing will be held on Wednesday, February 17, 2021, from 11a.m.-1p.m. at Jackson Lytle & Lewis Life Celebration Center with service beginning at 1p.m. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Mechanicsburg, Ohio. In lieu of flowers,
donations may be made to the Dementia Society of America, PO Box 600, Doylestown, PA 18901. Condolences may be
