Woman cut in face during fight with boyfriend’s ex

Springfield police are looking for a woman accused of using a knife to cut another woman in the face early Friday morning.

The victim told police her boyfriend asked her to pick him up in the 800 block of Rose Street because his ex-girlfriend showed up at the residence. When the victim got to the house, she said the ex-girlfriend, identified as Sherrie Collins, began to fight with her.

The victim and several witnesses, including the victim’s daughter, told police Collins pulled out a steak knife during the altercation, according to a police report.

The victim was taken to the hospital by her boyfriend, where she received 28 stitches for her injuries.

An arrest warrant for felonious assault for Collins has been issued.
