Teen seriously injured in Moorefield Twp. crash

A 17-year-old female was seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash tonight at Ohio 4 and Moorefield Road.

In all, six people were taken to hospitals from the crash, which happened at approximately 7 p.m.

A red Dodge Stratus traveling south on Ohio 4 crashed into the passenger side of a maroon Honda sedan, which was going west on Moorefield, according to Ohio Highway Patrol trooper Richard Dixon.

It appears the Honda failed to yield, Dixon said.

The 17-year-old was a passenger in the Honda and she was taken by CareFlight to Miami Valley Hospital.

The Honda driver, a 19-year-old male, and the Dodge Stratus occupants, one adult male and three children under 10, were taken by life squad to Springfield Regional Medical Center for treatment of injuries not considered life threatening.

Dixon said the crash remains under investigation.
