Jackie Harrison

Missing Tennessee man formerly owned Ohio transmission shop, could be in state

A Silver Alert is in effect for Jackie Harrison, who suffers from dementia, after he became separated from his family around 9 p.m. Nov. 17 at a Walmart store, according to the Knox County Sheriff’s Office.

He stands 5 feet, 9 inches with gray hair and brown eyes. He was wearing a Denver Broncos cap, a striped polo shirt with an orange T-shirt underneath, black jeans, brown jacket and blue shoes. He was last seen on video walking by the gas pumps in the Walmart parking lot.

His wife said he did not have a cellphone or access to a vehicle. However, she said he previously owned a transmission shop in Ohio and may have tried to hitch a ride, according to media outlets.

The sheriff’s office urged Knox County residents, particularly those within 10 miles of the Halls Walmart store, to:

  • Share Harrison’s photo on social media
  • Check barns, outbuildings, creeks and any vehicles
  • Monitor security cameras, and if possible check the night of Harrison’s disappearance
  • Talk with neighbors who might not be aware of the disappearance
