In the release, the supreme court emphasized the importance of keeping courts operating, especially to address emergency and time-sensitive matters.
“ Indiscriminate closure of the courts with no plan for these issues is not an option,” Ohio Supreme Court Chief Justice Maureen O’Connor said during a statewide address on Thursday.
Around $4 million of the Supreme Court’s budget is being allocated to this grant program.
According to the supreme court website, courts have until 5 p.m. on April 30 to apply for the grant, with priority being given to requests for video conferencing equipment. Applications will be reviews as received and awards given “promptly.” This will go on until the deadline or until funds are exhausted.
