A Springfield man has been indicted after allegedly having sex with a minor after lying about his age.

Felipe Geovany Gonzalez, 25, was indicted in Clark County Common Pleas Court this week on unlawful sexual conduct with a minor. Gonzalez pleaded not guilty to the charge on Aug. 27 and was given a $10,000 bond. As of Wednesday afternoon, he was not listed as an inmate in the Clark County Jail.

The Springfield Police Division were sent to Dayton Children’s Hospital on Aug. 5 on a sexual assault report, according to an affidavit filed in the case. When they arrived, they spoke with the 15-year-old victim and her mother, who told investigators the sexual assault happened on Aug. 4.

The victim told investigators she met Gonzalez in June and he told her he was 17, the affidavit said. Over the course of the month, she said she and Gonzalez had sex multiple times.

“(The victim) and (her mother) both stated that at the end of July, Gonzalez admitted to them that he was actually 23, not 17 like he originally told them. It was at that moment that (the mother) told Gonzalez to stay away from her daughter,” the affidavit said.

Gonzalez’s next court date has not yet been scheduled.
