Showers to move out by midnight; dry for Thanksgiving

A line of showers is moving through the area, producing gusty winds and brief periods of heavy rain, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington.

Thunderstorm wind damage was reported in Preble County. Three large trees were reported down between 7:38 and 7:43 p.m. in the Eaton area, and one tree down was reported at 7:51 p.m. in the Gratis area, the NWS said.

Lightning was embedded with the storms, but that threat has now past, according to the weather service.

The line of showers is expected to move out of the eastern counties by midnight with cloudy skies and breezy, southwesterly winds to follow into Thanksgiving morning.

For Thanksgiving, it will be much calmer with high temperatures expected in the low to middle 50s in the afternoon. It will be cooler with lows in the upper 30s to lower 40s Thursday night.

For Black Friday, it will be dry with peeks of sun. Highs will be in the 50s. Lows Friday night will be in the 30s.

Saturday will be slightly cooler, with high temperatures ranging from 45 to 50 degrees.
