A worker at Duncan Oil Company was injured when an explosion occured while he was on top of a tanker truck filling it with fuel Thursday morning. The worker was taken by CareFlight to Miami Valley Hospital with severe burns. According to the Springfield Township fire department, the explosion damaged the tanker and the 450 gallons of fuel inside had to be pumped out through a hole in the tank. Leffel Lane was closed for more than six hours while the hazardous situation was taken care of by the Springfield Twp and City of Springfield fire departments. BILL LACKEY/STAFF
