A man making a delivery in a Minnesota neighborhood took a parting gift that has left authorities a little purr-plexed.

Byron Thomas Vieau has been charged with misdemeanor theft and animal abandonment after he confessed to stealing a homeowner's cat after making a delivery to the residence on Oct. 10, the Star Tribune reported.

According to WCCO, Vieau returned to the home almost two months to the day after taking Dot and left a note confessing and apologizing for his "poor judgment."
