A man arrested after a shooting managed to escape from the back of a New York Police Department vehicle.

WABC reported Raymond Johnson, 28, was handcuffed when he got out of the police SUV through an open window and made it to a nearby intersection before being tackled by officers. He was one of three others taken in to custody.

Video shows officers tackle Johnson, who was charged with attempted murder, assault, criminal possession of a weapon, resisting arrest and escape.

One officer is seen limping in the video after other officers hold Johnson down. The officer was treated for a leg injury, WABC reported.

Police say 27-year-old Joshua Wiley was shot by Johnson. He was taken to a hospital and is expected to fully recover, WCBS reported.

WABC reported Wiley, the victim, picked up the gun and fired a shot, but missed. He is charged with criminal possession of a weapon and reckless endangerment.

Two others got into a fight during the incident. Levander Floyd, 29, faces a charge of obstructing governmental administration and disorderly conduct. Jesse Miranda, 30, is charged with assault, WABC reported.
