Top 25 most expensive places in America to get married

According to a survey conducted by the The Knot, the average cost of a wedding in the U.S. is $32,641.

But many engaged couples trump that cost -- some more than double -- in some cities and states across the nation. 

Couples in Manhattan spend an average of nearly $87,000 to tie the knot -- almost triple the national average.

Lovebirds in Long Island, Philadelphia and Boston spend a lot too. Those three cities made the top 15 in The Knot's list of the 25 most expensive places to get married in America.

The wedding site broke down the budgets of weddings with information gathered from 18,000 brides and grooms married in 2015 and found that the most money is generally spent on the wedding venue, the engagement ring and the reception band respectively.
