The other man went to his vehicle and grabbed a gun as the father went back to his pickup. That's when the first man fired the gun into the father's truck he tried to drive away, KHOU reported. The gunshot ignited fireworks that the family had just bought which sparked a fire in the truck, the Chronical reported.

The father and mother were also burned, KPRC reported

Good Samaritans helped pull the family members from the burning vehicle and took them to an area urgent care facility. The children ended up being flown to Galveston, the newspaper reported.

The children were listed in critical condition with severe burns, KHOU reported.
