A Texas woman who pleaded guilty in the death of her infant daughter has been sentenced to eight years in prison, multiple news outlets reported.

Cheyenne Summer Stuckey, now 23, was messaging on Facebook when 8-month-old Zayla Hernandez drowned in their tub 18 months ago, KTVT reported.

Stuckey pleaded guilty to injury to a child and has contended since the investigation's start that she left Zayla unattended "for only a couple minutes" but became distracted by another child, Messenger and loud noise on a nearby television, the station reported.

Deputies with the Parker County Sheriff's Office removed Stuckey's three older children – twin 4-year-old girls and a 2-year-old boy – following Zayla's death, KDFW reported.

Investigators determined Stuckey spent at least 18 minutes messaging on Facebook with two individuals while her youngest child drowned, KTVT reported.
