It was issued because water can get into a computer that controls the antilock brake system. The water can cause a short and potentially an engine fire that could happen even when the cars are off.
But the threat of the fire is small and owners do not need to park outside, the company told the AP.
The recall officially begins April 3 and dealers will install a relay in the car's junction box to prevent short circuits, the AP reported.
