The company said parts of the fuel injection system can leak. If the fuel hits an ignition source, it can spark a fire. No fires or injuries have been documented.
The leaks could come from variations in welding from the part's supplier. Drivers may smell fuel if the system is leaking, according to Consumer Reports.
Audi owners will be told via mail in mid-March if their cars are covered by the recall. Dealers will replace both the left and right fuel injector rails at no cost to the car owners, the AP reported.
If you have any questions, you can contact Audi at 800-253-2834. Audi has assigned number 24DP to the recall, according to Consumer Reports.
